Plenty of Canadians look for casinos that accept prepaid Visa cards or vouchers for a simple reason: you load a fixed amount, spend it, and nothing else in your bank account is exposed. It is a natural fit for budgeting, for anyone whose bank blocks card payments to gambling sites, and for anyone who would rather not see casino transactions on a credit card statement. The trade-off is that prepaid products are mostly built for paying in, not for receiving money back, so you need a plan for withdrawals before you deposit. This hub compares every prepaid option you are likely to meet and links to a full guide for each.

Prepaid payments explained
A prepaid payment is money you load in advance, either onto a voucher PIN or onto a card. The casino receives a payment that is already funded, so there is no credit risk and, for vouchers, no chargeback. For you, the attraction is control: you cannot spend more than you loaded, and the casino never sees your bank account or main card. Prepaid options fall into two groups that behave quite differently at a casino cashier, plus a third group of reloadable cards that sit closer to debit.
Cash vouchers with a PIN
Voucher brands such as Paysafecard, Neosurf and Flexepin do not use a card number at all. You buy a voucher, receive a PIN or code, and type it into the casino's cashier under that brand's logo. Because the casino integrates the voucher provider directly, these tend to be more predictable than gift cards once you find a site that lists them. Newer eVoucher brands such as CashtoCode, where you pay cash at a store against a barcode, work on the same principle at the casinos that offer them.
Prepaid Visa and Mastercard gift cards
These look and work like a regular card: 16-digit number, expiry date and security code. The best-known example in Canada is the Vanilla prepaid card, sold in pharmacies, grocery stores and convenience stores. You enter the card in the Visa or Mastercard field at the cashier. Whether it goes through depends on the card issuer, the casino's payment processor and how the transaction is coded, so a prepaid Mastercard casino deposit that works at one site can be declined at another.
Reloadable prepaid cards
Reloadable prepaid Visa and Mastercard products, including fintech app cards and registered cards such as MyVanilla, require you to sign up with your personal details. They behave more like debit cards and follow the provider's own gambling policy. Some block gambling merchants; others allow them. Check the provider's terms before relying on one. Virtual prepaid options such as AstroPay, bought online and used as a card or wallet, also appear at some offshore casinos.

What prepaid cards work for online gambling?
There is no single answer, because acceptance is decided at three levels: the product issuer, the payment processor and the casino. As a rule of thumb:
- Voucher brands are the most reliable, since the casino shows them as a dedicated payment option.
- Prepaid Visa and Mastercard gift cards are hit and miss. Many issuers block the gambling merchant category code, some cards refuse cross-border payments, and many need to be registered with your name and postal code before online use.
- Reloadable prepaid cards follow that provider's own gambling policy.
- Check the cashier first. Real money casinos that accept prepaid cards normally show the logos before you register.
If a prepaid card is declined, do not keep retrying with the same card. Repeated failures can trigger fraud checks on the card or the casino account. Try a voucher or a different method instead.
How to deposit with a prepaid card or voucher
- Pick a casino that lists your prepaid option and check its minimum, maximum and withdrawal methods.
- Buy a voucher or card in CAD, in a value close to your planned deposit.
- For a gift card, register it with your name and postal code if required.
- Open the cashier, choose the brand logo (or Visa/Mastercard for gift cards) and enter the amount.
- Enter the PIN, code or card details, then confirm.
- Keep the receipt and any replacement PIN until the balance is used up.
Casinos we list that accept all three voucher brands
These casinos have Paysafecard, Flexepin and Neosurf recorded in their cashiers, which gives you a fallback if one voucher is hard to buy. Payout times refer to the methods you would actually withdraw with.
Recorded minimum deposits and payout times (as recorded; check the cashier for current figures)| Casino | Minimum deposit (as listed) | Payout time (as listed) |
|---|
| Spin Casino | C$5 (C$10 for bonus) | 24 h pending; Interac/iDebit: instant; cards: 1–3 days |
| Lucky Nugget | C$1 | Interac/e-wallets/crypto: 24–48 h; cards: 2–6 days |
| Golden Crown | C$30 (Paysafecard C$20) | Crypto: instant–24 h; Interac/Skrill: 0–24 h |
| Lucky Elf Casino | C$20 (€20) | Pending up to 12 h; e-wallets/crypto: instant; cards: 1–3 business days |
| Axe Casino | €20 | Crypto/e-wallets: near-instant; Interac: 1–3 days |
| Goldex | €20 | E-wallets: 0–24 h; cards: 1–5 days; bank: 3–10 days |
| Smokos Casino | €20 | Crypto: ~20 min after approval; bank: 2–3 business days |
| Crown Slots | €20 | E-wallets: 0–24 h; cards/bank: 3–5 days |
Where a minimum is shown in euros, the casino may convert your deposit, which can trigger a conversion fee on vouchers and a foreign transaction fee on gift cards. Our CAD casinos guide explains how to avoid this.
Withdrawing when you deposited with prepaid
Because most prepaid products cannot receive funds, casinos usually ask you to withdraw by Interac, bank transfer, an e-wallet or crypto. Expect to complete identity verification first, and expect the casino to want the payout method in your own name. Setting this up before you deposit saves a lot of back-and-forth later. Our guide on how to withdraw walks through the usual process, KYC verification explains what documents are typically requested, and fast withdrawal casinos compares approval times.
Fees and limits to expect
The casino rarely charges for a prepaid deposit, but the product itself often does: an activation fee on gift cards, a service charge from some voucher resellers, conversion fees when the casino processes in another currency, and monthly or inactivity fees if a balance sits unused. Voucher values and issuer caps limit how much you can deposit in one go, and many casinos set lower maximums for voucher deposits than for bank methods. See our pages on fees and limits for more detail, or low minimum deposit casinos if you are starting small.
How to choose a prepaid casino
- Withdrawal methods: make sure there is at least one you can use, such as Interac or an e-wallet.
- CAD support: a casino that processes in Canadian dollars avoids conversion fees.
- Voucher limits: check the minimum, maximum and any daily cap for your chosen brand.
- Bonus terms: some promotions exclude prepaid methods or need a deposit larger than one voucher.
- Licence and reputation: the payment method does not make a casino safe; the operator's licence and complaint record matter more.
Bonuses with prepaid deposits
Most casinos accept voucher and prepaid card deposits for welcome bonuses, reloads, free spins and cashback. Exceptions exist: some sites exclude specific methods, and the qualifying minimum may be higher than a single voucher's value. Wagering, max-bet and game-weighting rules apply whatever method you used. Read the terms first; our bonus and payment method guide covers the common exclusions.
Prepaid payments on mobile
Voucher payment windows work in mobile browsers and casino apps, and buying an e-voucher online lets you copy the PIN from your email instead of typing it. Paysafecard and Neosurf accounts can be managed online, so you can check balances on your phone. Prepaid gift cards are entered like any card; whether they can be added to a mobile wallet depends on the issuer.
Safety, privacy and regulation
Prepaid payments protect your bank details, but a voucher PIN or gift card number is effectively cash: anyone who has it can spend it, and voucher payments cannot be charged back. Never share a PIN outside the payment window, and treat requests to pay a bill or fee with vouchers as a scam. Prepaid adds privacy, not anonymity, because casinos still verify your identity before paying out. Our payment security guide has more.
Most casinos that list several voucher brands are internationally licensed, for example in Curaçao, Kahnawake or Anjouan. In Ontario, online casinos are regulated through iGaming Ontario and the AGCO; Alberta launched its regulated market in July 2026 with PlayAlberta and AGLC-registered operators; and other provinces run lottery-corporation sites such as PlayNow, Espacejeux and PlayOLG. Payment options at regulated sites vary by operator, so check the cashier. See our Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia pages.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use a prepaid Visa at an online casino in Canada?
Sometimes. Acceptance depends on the card issuer and the casino's processor, and many prepaid Visa cards block gambling transactions. Check the cashier and have a backup method ready.
Which prepaid option is most widely accepted?
Voucher brands such as Paysafecard, Flexepin and Neosurf tend to be more predictable than gift cards because casinos integrate them directly. Availability still varies by site.
Can I withdraw to a prepaid card?
In most cases, no. A few casinos pay out to a my paysafecard account, but most ask you to withdraw by Interac, bank transfer, an e-wallet or crypto.
Are prepaid deposits anonymous?
The casino does not see your bank details, but you will still need to verify your identity before withdrawing. Prepaid adds privacy, not anonymity.
What fees come with prepaid casino payments?
Expect activation fees on gift cards, possible seller fees on vouchers, conversion fees on non-CAD payments and inactivity fees on unused balances. Casinos rarely add their own.
How much can I deposit with a voucher?
It depends on the voucher and the casino. Paysafecard caps a payment at C$400, and many casinos set voucher maximums of a few hundred dollars.
Do prepaid deposits qualify for bonuses?
Usually, but not always. Some casinos exclude specific methods from promotions, so read the bonus terms before depositing.
Why was my prepaid card declined at a casino?
Common causes are an issuer block on gambling, an unregistered card, no cross-border support or a balance too small to cover fees. Switch to a voucher or another method rather than retrying.
