An Apple Pay casino shows the Apple Pay button in its cashier, so you can pay with a card stored in Apple Wallet instead of entering the number. For Canadian players the appeal is speed on mobile and the fact that the casino never sees your card number. The trade-offs are that the card behind Apple Pay still has to be accepted for gambling, and that most casinos do not pay winnings back through Apple Pay.

How Apple Pay works at online casinos
Apple Pay is not a balance or a bank account. When you add a Visa, Mastercard or American Express card to Apple Wallet, your bank issues a Device Account Number, a token that stands in for your real card number and is stored in a secure chip on your device. When you pay, Apple Pay sends that token plus a one-time security code to the casino's processor, which forwards it to your bank for approval as a normal card payment. Apple does not keep your card number on its servers, and the casino never receives it.
That has two practical consequences. First, the card behind Apple Pay still has to be accepted for gambling: if your bank declines gambling on a credit card, it will decline the same card in Apple Pay. Second, the payment shows on your card statement like any card purchase, so issuer rules on cash advances and foreign transaction fees still apply. Apple Cash, Apple's stored-balance feature, is not available in Canada, so there is no Apple Pay balance to withdraw into.
Devices and browsers
- iPhone and iPad: the Apple Pay button appears in Safari and in casino apps that support it; you confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode.
- Apple Watch: can approve a payment started on a Mac.
- Mac: works in Safari on Macs with Touch ID, or by confirming on a nearby iPhone or Apple Watch.
- Other browsers: on recent iOS versions, some non-Safari browsers can display a code that you scan with your iPhone to pay; support depends on the casino's checkout.
- Windows or Android: Apple Pay is not available; use Google Pay or a card.
How to deposit with Apple Pay
- Add a Visa, Mastercard or Amex to Apple Wallet and set it as default if you want it pre-selected.
- Open the casino in Safari or its app, log in and go to the cashier.
- Choose Apple Pay and enter the deposit amount in CAD, plus any bonus code.
- Check the card shown on the payment sheet, then double-click the side button and confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode.
- If your bank asks for extra verification, approve it in your banking app.
- The funds normally appear in your casino balance immediately.
If the Apple Pay button does not appear, try Safari rather than another browser, update iOS, check that a supported card is in Wallet, and confirm the casino offers Apple Pay in your province.
Which card to put behind Apple Pay
A Visa Debit or Debit Mastercard is usually the best choice for gambling: it spends money from your chequing account, avoids cash-advance charges and is less likely to be declined. Credit cards work if your issuer allows gambling, but may be billed as a cash advance. Interac debit cards can be added to Apple Wallet for in-store payments; whether a casino can accept them through Apple Pay online depends on the merchant, so most casino deposits go through Visa or Mastercard. See our cards hub for the differences.
Can you withdraw with Apple Pay?
Searches for Apple Pay withdrawal casinos are common, but in practice most casinos treat Apple Pay as deposit-only. When you cash out, the casino usually pays to the underlying card (if it and the card network support payouts, mostly to debit cards), by Interac e-Transfer, by bank transfer or to an e-wallet. A few casinos may offer payouts that appear as Apple Pay, which in practice means a credit to the card in your Wallet; check the withdrawal tab in the cashier before depositing.
- Before your first deposit, check which withdrawal methods the casino offers to Canadians.
- Complete identity checks (KYC) early: photo ID, proof of address and, if asked, proof that you own the card behind Apple Pay.
- When you withdraw, pick Interac, your debit card or an e-wallet and enter the amount.
- Wait for the casino's pending and approval period; card payouts commonly take one to five business days after that, Interac and e-wallets are often quicker.
For predictable cash-outs, many Canadian players deposit with Apple Pay for convenience and register Interac as the withdrawal route. Our withdrawal guide and KYC guide explain the process.

Fees and limits
Apple does not charge you to use Apple Pay, and casinos usually do not add a fee. Costs can come from your card issuer instead:
- Cash advance: some credit card issuers treat gambling transactions as cash advances, with a fee and interest from day one. A debit card avoids this.
- Foreign transaction fee: often around 2.5% if the casino bills in USD or EUR; prefer a CAD casino.
- Limits: Apple Pay deposits follow the casino's card or Apple Pay limits plus your card's own spending limits; minimums are commonly C$10–C$20.
- Withdrawal fees: if any, they depend on the payout method you choose, not Apple Pay.
See our fees guide and limits guide for details.
Apple Pay and casino bonuses
Apple Pay deposits are processed as card payments, so they usually qualify for welcome offers, reloads and free spins. Still check the bonus terms for excluded methods, the qualifying minimum, wagering and maximum bet. Our guide to bonuses and payment methods explains common exclusions.
Is Apple Pay safe for casino deposits?
- Tokenization: the casino receives a device-specific token, not your card number, so a data breach at the casino does not expose your card.
- One-time security codes: each payment carries a dynamic code, making intercepted data useless for another payment.
- Biometric approval: nothing is paid without Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode.
- Lost device: you can lock or erase your device remotely with Find My, which suspends Apple Pay.
- Card protections: your issuer's fraud monitoring and zero-liability policy still apply.
The bigger question is the casino itself, so choose licensed sites with clear payment terms. Card protections do not reverse losses from your own play; see our chargebacks guide and payment security guide.
Apple Pay casino apps and mobile play
Apple Pay is at its best on an iPhone: the casino's mobile site or app opens the payment sheet, and a deposit takes a few seconds. Some operators offer iOS apps through the App Store, which Apple only allows in jurisdictions where the operator is licensed, while many offshore casinos run as mobile websites you can save to your home screen. Either way, the Apple Pay steps are the same.
Availability by province
Ontario regulates private online casinos through iGaming Ontario and the AGCO, and Alberta launched its regulated market in July 2026 with PlayAlberta and AGLC-registered operators. Other provinces have lottery-corporation sites such as PlayNow (BC and Manitoba), Espacejeux (Quebec) and ALC (Atlantic Canada), while offshore casinos hold licences from regulators such as Curaçao, Kahnawake, Anjouan or Malta. Whether Apple Pay appears depends on each operator's payment processor, so the same brand may show it in one market and not another. See Ontario and Alberta.

Android user? See Google Pay casinos, or compare both wallets on Apple Pay vs Google Pay. Other fast options include MuchBetter, which handles withdrawals too, and Interac. The casinos in our list above accept Apple Pay; check the cashier for current availability.
Playing responsibly with one-tap deposits
Because Apple Pay makes deposits almost frictionless, set deposit limits in your casino account before you start and keep a debit card, not credit, in Wallet for gambling. If you find yourself topping up on impulse, cooling-off and self-exclusion tools can help, as can support services such as ConnexOntario; see our responsible gambling page.
Frequently asked questions
Which online casinos accept Apple Pay in Canada?
A growing number of casinos serving Canadians offer Apple Pay, though fewer than accept Visa or Mastercard. The casinos in our list above record it; check the cashier for current availability.
Can I withdraw casino winnings to Apple Pay?
Usually not. Most casinos treat Apple Pay as deposit-only and pay winnings to your card, by Interac or to an e-wallet.
Why was my Apple Pay casino deposit declined?
Usually because the card behind Apple Pay is blocked for gambling by your bank, a limit was reached, or the casino's processor does not support that card. Try a debit card or another method.
Does Apple Pay charge fees for casino deposits?
No. Apple does not charge, and casinos rarely do, but your card issuer may apply cash-advance or foreign transaction fees.
Is Apple Pay safer than entering my card details?
Generally yes. The casino receives a token instead of your card number, and every payment needs Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode.
Can I use Apple Pay on a Windows PC or Android phone?
Not directly. Apple Pay needs an Apple device, though some desktop browsers can show a code to scan with your iPhone. On Android, use Google Pay.
Do Apple Pay deposits qualify for casino bonuses?
Usually, because they are processed as card payments. Check the bonus terms for excluded methods and the qualifying minimum.
Which card should I use with Apple Pay for gambling?
A Visa Debit or Debit Mastercard is usually best, as it avoids cash-advance charges and is less likely to be declined.
Gambling should be entertainment. Set limits, never chase losses, and get support if it stops being fun: see our responsible gambling page.
