GGPoker review

GGPoker is the world's largest poker network and the most complete option for Canadian poker players, with separate regulated rooms for Ontario and the rest of Canada. The trade-off is a slow rake-based bonus release and high rake, according to reviewers.

Overview

GGPoker began as Good Game Poker in 2014 and has grown into the largest online poker network, according to PokerListings. Canadians use one of two rooms. In Ontario, GGPoker.ca operates under the AGCO and iGaming Ontario with a ring-fenced Ontario player pool; it launched as WSOP.ca in September 2022 and became GGPoker Ontario in 2023 (see our Ontario guide). Players in the rest of Canada use the global ggpoker.com, which PokerListings says is run by GG International Limited under an Isle of Man licence.

Payments on the Ontario site include Interac e-Transfer, PayPal and e-wallets, with a C$10 minimum withdrawal. This review focuses on poker, the brand's core product.

Games and software

The poker offering covers No-Limit Hold'em, four- and five-card PLO, Short Deck and Omaha Hi-Lo, with fast-fold Rush & Cash, All-in or Fold, Spin & Gold, Flip & Go and Battle Royale formats, plus a full tournament schedule including WSOP-branded events. PokerListings notes that Stud, PLO8 and mixed games are not offered.

The in-house NSUS software includes PokerCraft hand statistics, a built-in Smart HUD, All-In Insurance and SnapCam. Third-party HUDs and tracking tools are banned. On the Ontario site, vip-grinders reports cash games up to C$5/10 and a weekly C$150,000-guaranteed tournament, with GGPoker holding roughly 57% of Ontario traffic.

Bonuses and promotions

On GGPoker.ca, new players choose between two offers, according to vip-grinders:

  • 100% deposit match up to C$777 (minimum C$20), released at C$1 for every C$5 of rake or tournament fees
  • A free rewards package of C$100 in tickets over six days plus up to C$50 in cash-game dollars
  • 90 days to release the match bonus; withdrawing early forfeits the remainder

The global site offers a similar structure (PokerListings lists 100% up to $600 or $100 in free tickets). Rake races, bubble protection and #ThanksGG freerolls run alongside. GGPoker's rakeback programme was long known as Fish Buffet; PokerListings reports that it was replaced by the eight-tier Ocean Rewards system in January 2026, so check which version applies on your site.

Mobile experience

GGPoker offers native iOS and Android apps with the same games as the desktop client, plus Windows and Mac software. PokerListings notes that the Android app is downloaded from the GGPoker website.

Customer support

Support is available 24/7 through live chat and email (help@ggpoker.ca on the Ontario site), with no phone line. PokerListings lists French among a dozen support languages.

Safety, licence and reputation

GGPoker is regulated in Ontario by the AGCO and licensed elsewhere by authorities including the Isle of Man GSC and the MGA. PokerListings rates it 4.6 and labels it 'Trusted', while its small user-review sample averages 2.4. Gambling.com highlights ISO 27001 certification and fast withdrawals, but lists high rake and compulsory identity checks as drawbacks; KYC is required before the first cashout (see our KYC guide). The site enforces a strict security policy against bots and real-time assistance tools, which can lead to account closures and confiscated funds. Responsible gambling tools exist, but our sources do not list them in detail.

Canada note: Ontario players use separate AGCO/iGaming Ontario-regulated GGPoker.ca (and WSOP.ca) with a separate player pool; rest of Canada uses global ggpoker.com

Limits often differ by payment method and VIP level, and casinos can change them without notice. Your bank sets its own caps as well: Interac e-Transfer, for example, typically has daily and weekly sending limits. Large withdrawals may be split into instalments and usually require completed KYC verification.

How to deposit at GGPoker

  1. Register and confirm your email or phone number.
  2. Open the cashier and choose Interac (it may appear as Interac e-Transfer).
  3. Enter an amount in CAD at or above the minimum (C$10 (GGPoker.ca, all methods)).
  4. Approve the payment in your banking app or follow the e-Transfer instructions on screen.
  5. Return to the casino: the balance usually updates within minutes.

See our Interac casino guide for limits, fees and common reasons a transfer is declined.

Withdrawals

Reported withdrawal times: Interac e-Transfer: minutes–24 h; e-wallets: same day; cards: within 24 h; bank: 1–3 days. Expect identity checks (KYC) before the first payout, and note that casinos usually pay back to the method you deposited with where possible. Read how to withdraw and KYC verification before you request a cash-out.

GGPoker pros and cons

Pros

  • Largest poker network with the widest range of formats
  • Regulated Ontario room and a global site for the rest of Canada
  • Native iOS and Android apps
  • Strong built-in tools such as PokerCraft and All-In Insurance
  • Interac deposits for Canadian players

Cons

  • Bonus releases slowly through rake over 90 days
  • Reviewers describe the rake as high
  • No Stud or mixed games; third-party HUDs banned

Our verdict

For Canadian poker players, GGPoker is the default choice: it combines regulated status in Ontario, the deepest traffic and the most varied formats, plus polished mobile apps. Its welcome bonus only pays off for regular players, as it is released slowly through rake. Players who mainly want casino games, or grinders who rely on third-party tracking software, may find it less suitable; everyone else should find it hard to beat.

Ontario residents can legally play only at operators registered with iGaming Ontario. GGPoker is licensed in Isle of Man GSC; outside Ontario, many Canadians use offshore-licensed casinos, while provincial lottery sites run the regulated options. Check the casino's terms for your province. See our Ontario page.
